# Grades & Scores

We use grades scale to rate competency level based on expertise but not on position level.

## Definition 

For the simplicity we use button-up approach rate competency as a set of skills on the 0-4 scale.Where 0  is less competent and 4 is the highest score.

:zero:**Unfamiliar** Doesn't understand the competency)

:one:**Beginner** Demonstrates this competency under supervision or with encouragement

:three:**Competent** Demonstrates this competency independent of supervision or encouragement

:three:**Proficient** Encourages or supervises others in this competency

:four:**Expert** Has a broad and deep competence in terms of knowledge, skill and experience through practice
